My Experience At Vectis Radio
Shania Steele at Vectis RadioMy experience of Vectis radio was very good.

As I want to have a career in media in the future, going to Vectis Radio helped me experience the world of media and what I need to do to achieve this.

Ian Mac, the presenter I was with, was very helpful giving me many tips to become a successful journalist.

“Be nosey”
Firstly he said to me to be nosey and find out everything that is going on. Also, he said to me that before you do what you are doing; make sure you research the subject so you know what you’re reporting about before you attend the place.

Also, you should never stand at the back and be shy; you should stand at the front and know what is going on. Being on air was very scary for the 1st time and I was guided on how to actually speak on air, being yourself was one of the most important things to do.

Phone-in great experience
Being part of the phone in was a fantastic thing to be a part of. It was great with the usual characters phoning in and was really fun. Before entering Vectis radio, I thought all you had to do was present the show but now I realised how much planning and preparation is needed to broadcast the show.

I would like to thank Ian for giving me the opportunity to visit Vectis Radio and it has certainly given me a better insight into Radio and gives me consideration for the future of media.
