If you missed our feature podcast yesterday about the Minghella Film Festival screening that our sister site, OnTheWight, is sponsoring, it’s time to pay attention ;-)

OnTheWight is very proud to be sponsoring the première screening of Eliminate: Archie Cookson and to help make the screening a success, we’d love to have as many VB readers along as possible.

The British-made film is “hot out of the oven” and stars Paul Rhys (he of Chaplin, Spooks, Being Human) in the lead role as Archie Cookson, a forgotten spy who, after mysteriously receiving incriminating tape recordings, must evade those that want him dead. His icy wife is played by Claire Skinner who you’ll recognise from Outnumbered, Sleepy Hollow and those with a good memory, as Natalie in Mike Leigh’s Life Is Sweet.

Join us for drinks, the screening and Q&A
There’s a pre-screening drinks reception, where you’ll get a free drink as part of your ticket price, then a Q&A session after the screening with lead actor Paul Rhys (Archie Cookson) and the writer/director Rob Holder.

Clare Skinner in Eliminate Archie CooksonTickets are £10, which includes the free drink and you can feel all warm and cosy inside knowing that all of your hard-earned cash will be supporting the aims of the Minghella Film Festival which aims to promote awareness and raise funds for charities that support children and young people on the Isle of Wight, as well as other causes that were close to Anthony Minghella’s heart.

Book your tickets in advance by calling Quay Arts on (01983) 822490.

It’s going to be a great night and brilliant end to the festival.

This really is the ideal Sunday evening screening. Very British, quirky, funny and beautifully acted.

My wife and I hope to support the film by coming along. Will be good to put some faces to names too. Looking forward to it.
