Beaulieu House Children’s Care Home: Good with Outstanding Features Say Ofsted

Monday, 8th February, 2010 at 1:01 pm, Isle of Wight

Isle of Wight Council, Newport, News, Youth

News reaches us this morning that a Newport care home for children with disabilities has been praised by Ofsted as being ‘Good with outstanding features’.

An unannounced visit was made to Beaulieu House by inspectors last December, the result of which is a glowing report praising the ‘committed care team who demonstrate warm relationships with the young people.’

Dawn Cousins, Isle of Wight Council Cabinet member for Children, Social Care, Health and Housing said “Beaulieu House is a very important facility providing excellent services for those families who use it. The staff are very dedicated and it is very pleasing that their hard work and dedication has been recognised by the national inspectorate”

Colin Peak, the council’s Director of Children and Young People Services welcomed the report. He said “The staff have an impressive knowledge of the young people they care for, and are keen to help the young people develop new skills.

“I am very pleased with the report which demonstrates the young people and their families are receiving a very good level of service”.
