Yikes! 160,000+ Visits To VentnorBlog in January
Friday, 29th January, 2010 at 2:24 pm, Isle of Wight
Business, Island-wide, News, Online, Overseas
A big thank you to everyone who visited VentnorBlog this month, you’ve made January a record month for us.
We had over 160,000 visits – yes, one hundred and sixty thousand – in January.
It’s an amazing buzz and one that we’re truly humbled by. Thank you all so much.
Island businesses can benefit
We’re now looking to help Island businesses turn all of those people looking at VentnorBlog into potential sales.
The advertising rates on VentnorBlog are incredibly reasonable, currently starting at under £1 per day. We know, it’s crazy isn’t it?
With a month like January, Island businesses would have their adverts seen over 345,000 times.
£0.00008 per ad viewing
That works out to an eight-thousandths of a penny (£0.00008) per viewing, any of which could turn into a sale.
That’s got to be the bargain to the year hasn’t it?
Get in touch (898 777) we’re keen to help build your business.

Crazy numbers. Amazing.
You should be charging more than that for ads.
Keep it up

Well done VB, you’re always my first port of call for news (especially during the snow week), looks like I’m not alone.
You deserve some praise for your hard work.

158,000 of them were me :-)

By the way was Mazillas having a dig at you in todays County Press in the bit about Northwood Church forum?

Like the comment NO.5! BTW VB – how many of those 160,000 were unique visitors?
(Report comment)
123,940 Absolute Unique Visitors says Google Analytics – and who are we to argue with them.

more like 158,000 from shobba moaning about wind turbines.

Yes, I think my comments, and more importantly the message board, do stimulate much of your site traffic. As long as we all have differing opinions and don’t get you into legal difficulty expressing them then I guess that will continue!
I have to say, as well as the comments, this site is now my number one choice for island news! Congratulations. Keep up the good work.

I guess u could say you were SNOWED UNDER with hits!

Personally I come on here for balanced news and not to be sold to. I work in advertising and am responsible for over £20m of spend. I am sold to all day, every day by good sales people and some very bad. I do not come to VB to be sold to and surely your thinly weiled hyperbole is nothing but a sales tactic – a poor one at that. As you insist on selling, can you confirm what your average page views are, what your bounce rate is and where most of your traffic comes from so it actually means something to the people you are targeting.

What an utterly nasty comment. I don’t come to VB to be sold to either, but I find the news (which I believe is far more balanced than any other outlet on the Island) fascinating, informative and up to date.
However the ads on the side of the page have enabled me to get discounts on my wood supply this year and I got some great personalised hoodies last year that I probably wouldn’t have known about. In my view the ads provide a good service for local businesses.
You don’t sound like you’re likely to be advertising with VB anyway, so why the spiteful questioning?

I don’t see the purpose of you contribution isleofvibe unless it be to show off what a clever fellow you are -and how spiteful.
Sal and Simon are running what all seem to agree is a highly succesful operation -for which neither you or anyone else is contributing a wage.
In broacasting their success and asking for a little advertising revenue to help cover costs they are behaving perfectly normally.
As you are such a succesful man perhaps you could write them a cheque a bit larger than the 50p a week they are currently charging That would go down rather better than your nasty whinge.

Well said Old Duffer. What a rotten egg isleofvibe comes across as.

Whilst I am at it, well done VB. You deserve an award for your hard work and dedication.

Isleofvibe. You could save yourself some time by just leaving that foot in your mouth permanently!

Well said steve. Isleofvive must have had a
really rotten weekend to have spouted such diatribe.
