Just been in Trafalgar Road in Newport (Opposite Moreys) watching a bus going a little sideways as he approuched out of the one way section.

Just seen a bus go past – Cowes to Newport 9.42am

Just read Southern Vectis web site update and they will be highly unlikely to run ANY services today. Priority is to recover their buses that they had to abandon all over the island last night and the buses that have been seen moving are most likely to be those being recovered!!!

Well done to the Lakeside Hotel in Wootton! They reduced their room prices by £35 a night to allow people who were stranded to have affordable accomodation… and kept their kitchens open for food. I am impressed! Lets face it, some Hotels would try to make a killing out of peoples misfortune! Well done Lakeside!!

I BET THE ONLY COUNCIL SERVICE WORKING TODAY IS THE TRAFFIC WARDENS. LETS JUST HOPE THE NOTEPAD IS BIG ENOUGH.
IF THEY CAN DO IT WITH CARNIVALS, WHY STOP THERE

Offensive comment?
Yes, that’s the same as it’s been all day.

HQ have confirmed that the hourly service is still in force, there have been 10 min delays at some points today, but they’re doing a sterling job. Well done to Island Line train drivers!

I just talked to someone who drove (with care) from Newport to Wroxall ok.
Main roads a bit slushy, sideroads the worst bit…
Offensive comment?
I can’t belive how many idiots are driving around in heavy snow without lighs on! The police should prosecute them! Some are even taxis! You would expect better from ‘proffesional’ drivers.
Offensive comment?
Have there been any snow ploughs, salters or gritters on the roads as I, nor others I have spoken to, have seen any? There certainly have’nt been any round here,(Ryde).
Offensive comment?
I’ve seen several in Cowes.
