Annie Leonard Featured in Guardian Camera Club

News, Online, Photography, Ventnor, Youth

We’ve been banging on for ages about how talented young local photographer, Annie Leonard is.

Annie Leonard Featured in Guardian Camera ClubWell, it seems that we’re not the only ones who think so.

We heard yesterday evening that the 16 year old ‘Annie Leibovitz in training’ from Ventnor was chosen to be featured on the Guardian Website in their coveted Camera Club section.

The Guardian picture editor said of Annie’s work “A very promising and stimulating portfolio, and we’re looking forward to seeing more.”

It goes way back
We’ve been really impressed with Annie’s work since her first exhibition at Dimbola Lodge back in February 2008, not to mention the numerous times she has worked for VB shooting at festivals such as Camp Bestival, Bestival and the Madness gig in Carisbrooke.

Infact, one of her shots of Florence and the Machine at Bestival 09 was spotted on VB by the band, who wanted to use it in Florence’s latest box set.

We’re sure you’ll all join us in congratulating Annie on her latest success and wishing her the best in the future.

By the way, there’s no chance of any of this going to Annie’s head, she’s one of the most switched-on and modest teenagers we’ve had the pleasure of knowing.

Check out the Guardian Camera Club.
