Beware of Black Ice Wednesday Morning

Tuesday, 22nd December, 2009 at 4:48 pm, Isle of Wight

Island-wide, Isle of Wight Council, News, Roads

Beware of Black Ice Wednesday MorningEeek, tomorrow morning rain is predicted so motorists and cyclists on the Island are being warned to take care and look out for black ice.

The council tell us that the main roads have already been treated with salt, this could be washed away when it rains at 6am tomorrow morning and with the cold temperatures we experience black ice on the roads.

They tell us that the super duper gritting vehicles will be on standby but as there are a lot of roads to cover, there may be a period of up to 2 hours when ice may form on some of the main roads.

The advice is as previously, only use the roads unless you have to and take care when doing so.
