If you’re one of those people who like to keep a note on your kitchen calender of when the bins go out and recycling is collected, this is the article for you!
It’s a couple of weeks away yet, but changes to the usual collections of household refuse and recycling over the festive period have been announced.
Between Friday 25 December and Saturday 16 January a new timetable goes into effect.
|
Lynnbottom household waste recycling centre will only be closed on Christmas Day and Afton and Forest Road household waste recycling centres usually only open on weekends but will be operating different opening hours over Christmas.
Afton will be closed on Saturday 26 December but will open on Sunday 27 and Monday 28 December between 0930 – 1630. The site will then be open as normal each subsequent weekend.
The Forest Road site in Newport will be closed every Saturday from 26 December up to and including 16 January. It will operate extended opening hours every Sunday of 0700 – 1900 from 27 December up to and including 17 January. The facility will also open on Monday 28 December between 0930 – 1630.

Sal/Simon, where did you get your photo from? Is this recycling box an Island on? I ask because it has cardboard, plastics and a carton in it. I wasn’t aware that we could recycle plastics anymore on the Island and my dustmen won’t take cardboard in the recycling box, only if I leave it separate or in the rubbish bag.
