Reports Of A Body At Newport Bus Station (UPDATE 2)

IW Radio is reporting a body was found in Newport Bus Station at 4:3040am this morning.
We’ve contacted the police and are awaiting details.
UPDATE 08:31: The bus station appears to be working as normal and there are no signs of an area being taped off.
IWR are reporting that most of the bus station has now reopened.
UPDATE 08:49: Police have issued the following statement
Officers were called to Newport Bus Station at approximately 4.40am (Thursday, November 26, 2009).
Part of the bus station was sealed off by police to allow an investigation at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
The body is yet to be formally identified.
The Isle of Wight Coroner has been informed.

Very sad. I’ve noticed that there are an increasing number of rough sleepers in Newport. I wonder if this person was one of them.
