Walking Festival Loses Headline Sponsor
Friday, 13th November, 2009 at 2:31 pm, Isle of Wight
Island-wide, Isle of Wight Walking Festival, News
It was a shame to hear this afternoon that Ordnance Survey, the previous headline sponsor of the Isle of Wight Walking Festival will not be sponsoring next year’s event.
The two week festival has grown to be hugely successful, last year pulling in a whopping 22,500 participants from across the UK.
After six years of supporting the festival, Ordnance Survey are stepping down and making way for a new headline sponsor.
This is a great opportunity for someone else to step into their shoes. The festival enjoyed brilliant media coverage this year across the world.
Cllr George Brown, IW Council cabinet member with responsibility for tourism added: “In recent years the Isle of Wight Walking Festival has emerged as not only the largest event of its kind in the UK but also the most diverse. It offers potential sponsors a huge range of opportunities and markets.”
