It was a good call, as the weather yesterday evening was far better for a bonfire and BBQ, and we had a great turnout. The headteacher said that friends who she was due to see yesterday evening knew about her change of plans before she'd even rung them as they'd seen the item on Ventnor Blog! (She still went to dinner, just a bit later than planned.) It was a good lesson in how to rearrange an event at very short notice. Thanks to the Village Shop and Brighstone newsagents for putting display boards out for us. The school texting service, which Brighstone School Association paid for this year, came into its own, as the head was able to let all parents know instantly about the change. Not sure how much was raised yet, but it will help pay for much-appreciated "extras" for the pupils. Big thanks to everyone who came along, or helped.
