Regular readers will remember the posting we published a couple of weeks ago about a new aerobics class for kids being held in Newport.

Zumba: New Dance ClassWe took our youngest member of the VB team along to the first Zumbatomic class at Downside Middle School on Monday.

The class was excellent, the teacher inspiring and full of energy with the music and moves adapted for the young people taking part.

Unfortunately, although six kids had been signed up for the classes only two turned up and we heard from the Sports Unit today that due to the lack of interest, the remaining classes (another six) have been cancelled.

A big disappointment for all involved, but there is light at the end of the tunnel as the Zumbatomic teacher, Helen Baker, is starting new classes tonight in Ryde.

Independent of the WC Sports Unit, Helen’s classes for 5-11 year olds takes place at the Ryde Youth Club at 97 High Street, Ryde.

It’s a six week course taking you up until Christmas and will only set you back £15 for the six classes.

You don’t need to book, just turn up, but you will need to pay for the entire course at the first lesson.

The classes start at 4.30pm so turn up just before and make sure you kids are wearing suitable loose clothing and trainers.

The class runs until 5.15pm.

For further info give Helen a call on 07732 879 123
