Next week ‘Future Energy’ – the sustainable living event returns to the Island.

Future Energy: Sustainable Living EventsTaking place at two locations it’s your chance to learn how you can do your bit to help fight climate change.

Brought to you by The Footprint Trust, the event will help learn all you need to know about Solar Energy: solar panels; heat pumps; biomass boilers and how to take advantage of grants.

The Warmahome scheme offers free help on keeping warm and well
reduce your fuel bills.

Find out details of grants and benefits and learn how you can insulate your home from £400 or even for free.

There will be lots of free stuff on offer from low energy lightbulbs for your home to free powerdown for your computer and even a save-a-flush bag for your loo.

The first event takes place on Wednesday 28th October 11am-4pm at the Riverside Centre, Newport Quay.

If you can’t make that, try Shanklin Primary School, Albert Road on Friday 30th October 111am-4pm.

I personally like the bit about drive less. We do every Saturday we park in the York Avenue Red Funnel car park. Sometimes if your lucky it can take hours to get home!!! We do drive less because we are sat in a static traffic jam even the fuel computer on the dash says so.
