UPDATE: DUE TO THE LACK OF INTEREST THIS CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELLED. SEE REPLACEMENT IN RYDE

Regular readers might remember reading about Helen Baker’s Zumba classes previously on VB.

Zumba: New Dance ClassWe hear that Helen is about to launch a new season of classes, this time aimed at helping helping children get fit.

‘Zumbatomic’ is an adaptation on the adult Zumba classes, exclusively designed for children aged 8 – 13 years old.

Some say that music makes the world go round and influences of Latin, hip-hop, salsa, samba and merengue should help get your kids going round, and round and round.

Helen is working with the Isle of Wight Council’s Sports Unit and funded through Sport England to bring the new seven week course Downside Middle School, Newport.

The course begins on Monday 2 November and runs from 4pm-5pm.

It will continue every Monday for a total of seven weeks and will set you back just 10.

If you’d like your kids to take part, get in touch with the Sports Unit via sports.unit(at)iow.gov.uk or by calling 823818.

As usual, help support VB and don’t forget to say where you heard about it.
