Following the recent concert at St Saviours on the Cliff Church in Shanklin, we hear from Barry Leahy of the Newchurch Male Voice Choir that the event was a great success. Ed

Newchurch and Glos Police Male Voice choirs A really big thank you VentnorBlog for “spreading the word” on the joint concert featuring the Newchurch and Gloucestershire Police Male Voice choirs at St Saviours on the Cliff church Shanklin last Saturday 10 October.

We were reliably told that some 400 people were in the audience.

For previous joint concerts the pews have been filled but for this event a considerable amount of additional seating was brought in from the church hall.

Our audience was very generous as the retiring collection realised a sum of just over £940.

A donation is to be made to the church with the balance going to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

Our MD Roy Bevan thought it was probably our best joint concert to date, while George Taylor, the police choir MD, was impressed with the really warm reception his choir had received on their arrival at the church and during their performance.

Thank you again.
