Residents and visitors to Ventnor over the last couple of years have praised the changes made along the Ventnor Esplanade.

Ventnor Esplanade ConsultationExtending the outside space that cafes have has really made a big difference to the ambiance of the area.

The changes were introduced as part of an 18 month trial which is now complete and new proposals are being put forward by the IWC Highways Department to continue developing the project.

Members of the public are invited to a public consultation meeting on Monday at the Winter Gardens between 4pm and 7pm to view plans for the proposed Esplanade Accessibility and Improvement Project.

There will be officials from the IWC Highways Department there to talk through the plans and record public feedback on the proposed scheme.

Even if you don’t work or live on the esplanade your views are still valid and welcome on Monday.

Lets at the very least have a one way system on the esplanade ……….. but not sure about full pedestrian only. People really like to unload there rubber dinghies / surf boards etc and other beach gear over the wall. We have enough cafes along the front (and these are very rarely full)
Why not restrict it to loading / unloading say max 20 mins then people can still unload and take there cars to the car parks

fair comments, but people always over step the mark..park longer and there will never be enough wardens about to control this..from what i see the cafes always seem to have a steady stream of people. if anything I think it should be parking for the disables badges only..

Either way it should be one way and NO parking
loading and unloading only. This would service the business`s and allow limted access to the beach for Holiday Makers. If it is clearly marked I dont see a problem with wardens I see loads through the town all summer long
