There are a group of people down at the riverside of Vestas Blades this morning anticipating the arrival of two barges which left Southampton this morning.

We’ve been told that the barges made their way to East Cowes and it’s thought that perhaps some blades were picked up from Venture Quays.

It was anticipated that Vestas may also try to move the several blades that are currently sitting within the Newport plant at high tide today.

We also understand that although the blades at Newport may be ready to be shipped, the final fitting of the frames has to take place outside of the factory, so exact timings on when the blades will be shipped should be more evident once the frames and blades can be seen from the riverside path.

We’ll keep you up to date as events develop.

More of the same, we need to have people at Marine Gate for at least the rest of this month (after all it’s our factory, they’re our blades!)

    Offensive comment?

  3. [...] As a result Vestas protesters asked supporters to join them at the Marine Gate on the River Medina. Of course VentnorBlog got down there to take some pictures. [...]
