Regular readers and music lovers will remember back in June that electronica brother and sister duo, Arcade Eden, managed to impress the judges of the Bestival Band Competition enough to win their place opening the Bestival next Friday on the main stage.

Well, the siblings from Shanklin have been working flat out since June preparing for Bestival and writing and recordings their original tracks for a debut single.

The band who are signed to Indie label, Ear Candy Music have been very busy supporting at the mainland for Iglu & Hartley, Enter Shikari and We Have Band and working hard to prepare for the Bestival slot.

“We are super-excited about being chosen to open the Bestival, and although it is a bit scary we are really looking forward to it!” said vocalist Clare Welling.

Brother Larry said “We have been spending every possible moment getting our album finalised and our first single will be released in September.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and we are absolutely thrilled to have won. It is quite a responsibility though to open the Bestival and we just want it to be the best performance we can give and get everyone off in the party mood for the weekend! We have been working very hard on our set and hope our fans will come along early on Friday 11th to see us.

“The Bestival set will include the track submitted to Rob da Bank for the competition, some of our old stuff and a couple of new tracks too.

“Our record label are very excited about this track and we hope our fans will love it too! What better place to play it than the Bestival, which will hopefully mark the start of another busy and successful year for the band. ”
