As Vestas workers stated at the rally on Saturday afternoon, the occupation of the management offices might be over, but the fight to save the 600 job losses at Vestas Blades UK Ltd is certainly not.

Vestas Protest: Workers Call for Day of ActionThere were some passionate speeches made at the rally on Saturday, all echoing the call for solidarity with the 600 workers who have lost their jobs and urging people across the UK to take part in a Day of Action this Wednesday.

The crowds watching the rally were told of 30-40 groups across the country who have planned action tomorrow, be it to stop working for an hour or for the entire day in support of the Vestas workers.

Readers may have already heard about those who chained themselves to the entrance of the home of Peter Mandleson yesterday, or the handful of supporters who super-glued themselves outside Ed Miliband’s offices last week. We understand that more direct action like this is planned across the country over the coming weeks in support of the Vestas workers who have lost their jobs.

If you’re planning something for the Day of Action, add a comment on here to let us know what you’ll be doing.

We have more videos to follow from the rally that took place on Saturday as well as interviews with various people connected to the protests.
