Some people in the crowd were suggesting that others should occupy the Vestas building.
The Vestas workers wanted this protest to continue in the peaceful way it started and has continued with.
RMT official Richard stepped forward and asked that the wishes of the workers inside be respected.

Been there for a week? Eh? Haven’t seen you before today brother. Listen to the man and respect the workers wishes.

Oh! the RMT officials, aren’t these the people that are still paid as usual during any form of strike action while the rest are doing it for nothing! They have nothing to lose.

Hi Trevor and all. That is me on that vid. My point, before the camera came in was with 200 people there, we should NOT have been chanting meaningless slogans but discussing how we could best support those inside.
what was being asked for was not that ANYONE disrespect the workers inside but that IF we want to support them to the max, we need to ALL talk / discuss arrange what we can do.
I was arguing we needed to have a meeting at that point. If you listen carefully you will hear that what is being questioned is WHERE are the facilities to maintain a 24hr mass blockade capable of stopping bailiffs enter at the 3 gates. I personally did not at ANY time express ANY preference for ANY tactic, apart from involvement of the maximum number of people in debating and organising.
So why was the RMT oppossed to us having a mass meeting to organise picketing / leafletting / support duties?
and Trevor I was not around much as i was away helping to support the Venture Quays roof occupation ;)
Btw I came down as a key activist in the Fords Visteon Workers Support Group (Enfield), whose work was key in supporting the workers there, to offer support and any advice I could. I got sidetracked and so apologise for not introducing myself earlier! glyn

“Some people in the crowd were suggesting that others should occupy the Vestas building.”
This is not correct. Someone from a the SWP was chanting on a magaphone some vacuous slogan about “occupying” and so i said clearly ” is that what people want? If YES or if NO, whatever, we need to talk about it, instead of just standing there chanting.” or something like that.
