Vestas Sit-in: Discussions With Police Over First External Food Delivery (video)

Sunday, 2nd August, 2009 at 11:33 am, Isle of Wight

Law & Order, Newport, Vestas Sit-In, Video Content

Vestas Sit-in: Food Negotiations (video)As there is every day at the 6pm rally, yesterday afternoon there was an address from the Vestas sit-in supporters to the gathered crowd.

What was unusual yesterday was (at 2:15 into the video below) that it was heard that police and security were going to allow food in from the supporters outside for the very first time.

About 2:40 into the video, you can hear the conversation between the RMT representatives and the police about the circumstances of the food going in.

Photos and the video of the first food from the supporters being carried can be seen on the story we published just after the event.

As ever, clicking the icon at the lower right corner expands the video to full screen.

the closure of the only british wind turbine manufacturing plant on the isle of wight is a damning bid to herald a green revolution.

the isle of wight likes to brandish the `eco` tag but its objections to wind turbine farms on the island demonstrates it is anything but green.

who can blame vestas wind systems for pulling the plug in britain when people have been brainwashed into vehemently opposing such sustainable technolgy.

alas people have it into their heads that “eco” island means green green green.
in actual fact it stands for “economy” not “ecology” and the main aim of this measure is to promote tourism and bring revenue to the island. they try to play this down in public as it is better to let people think they mean ecology.
      sad but true,

Since then the management at Vestas have yet again refused to allow any food to come from anyone but themsleves. They said the food delivery from the rmt was allowed as a gesture of good will. Funny how they change when the TV cameras are no longer around.
