Revenge of the Lawn Play Tomorrow
Friday, 10th July, 2009 at 4:15 pm, Isle of Wight
Don’t forget the rather excellent five piece band, Revenge of the Lawn, will be playing tomorrow night as part of the Ryde Regatta.
We’re hoping for clear skies and sunshine all day but if the powers who control the weather don’t listen, just bring a brolly instead.
This band are not to be missed – they exude great musical talent and have a cracking sense of humour to boot.
Revenge of the Lawn are great fun to watch and listen to.
They’ll be on between 7-8pm Eastern Gardens, Ryde Esplanade.

A great night, I went along and saw some of the bands mostly in the damp. Your right, revenge of the lawn was pretty exciting and kept the rain soaked audience captivated. They played a whole lot of instruments, including some you hit, blow, tap, stroke, including four green bottles and a wood saw. They also thanked VB for their support.
X-directory finished the night to an eager audience who by now was pretty well soaked through but that did not stop them dancing and joining in.

Like Roger, I went along to see Revenge of the Lawn cos you’s recommended them and I was
not disappointed. They were great – five rather incongruous people,
hitting each other if they got the song wrong. They do their own songs,
which is always a bonus. But what makes them stand out above the rest is
that they put on a visual performance and actually (god forbid) talk to the
crowd. Cos there’s always something to watch, it’s entertaining. They
don’t just stand there rigid and do music like most bands on the Island.
They actually put on a show. I’ll be at there next for certain.
