Thanks to legendary Island skates and filmmaker John Cattle for sending through details of this summer jam taking place tomorrow in Cowes. Let’s hope the weather is kind to the Island tomorrow. Ed

Cowes Skatepark will host the 2nd ‘Kimpo’s Summer Jam and Funday’, this Saturday starting at 10am. The event has been organised by Cowes Youth Forum.

Fun for all the family, bouncy castle, refreshments as well as the Skate and BMX Competition.

DJ on the day will be Leeboy from NPT who will be playing a bit of reggae, soul, and funk as the soundtrack to the proceedings.

Final registration for competition is at 11am and is free to enter.

The competition will start at 12 and go on till around 5 ish when prizes will be awarded.

Prizes will be supplied by event sponsors -
Wight Trash, Wight Mountain, Switch, Revolver and Pijin.

Lots and lots to win and much fun to be had.

Don’t worry if you’re not the best on your board or bmx, there’s a prize for best slam/fall and best effort trying a trick.
