The Adventurists Isle of Wight Cycling Tour: UPDATED

Thursday, 25th June, 2009 at 2:45 pm, Isle of Wight

Freshwater, Music, Niton, Ryde, St Catherine's, The Arts, Ventnor

If you were thinking about organising a music tour, but wanted to do something a bit more exciting than just playing at a handful of venues over a several nights, you’d need to dig deep and bring out the more adventurous side of your personality.

The Adventurists Isle of Wight Cycling TourThat is just what Sam Walker (John Watts, Turning Green) and Daniel Clark (The Hat, Lou Rhodes) have done with what we predict, will be amazing results.

The lads have joined forces to create ‘The Adventurists‘, a band where the Celtic Harp, Steel Pan, a homemade drum kit and electric & acoustic guitars are embraced and caressed to bring their songs and stories to life.

The Adventurists tour takes place on two bicycles towing a mini mobile pop out stage and a small solar powered P.A. How cool is that?

Using only pedals and the sun to power their shows, The Adventurists offer a very modern solution to an age-old endeavor – the role of the traveling troubadour.

From next week they will be peddling their way into our hearts by touring around the Island playing over 15 shows in just five days.

During the daytime they’ll be playing free gigs at venues such as the Botanical Gardens, Blackgang Chine and St Catherine’s Lighthouse.

The evening performances will be with the support of several Island bands and musicians and guaranteed to be well worth the few pounds ticket prices.

The lads tell us that they’re also going to be making a film about artists and creative talent on the Island during their tour. Hurrah!

We’ll be adding these to the events diary, but make a note now of your favourites so you don’t double book.
