The Society for Art of Imagination was founded by Brigid Marlin in England in 1995.
Its aim was to form a movement where artists of Vision and Craftsmanship could unite to create a forum for the Exhibition and promotion of Art of Imagination.
Brigid Marlin was born in Washington D.C. in 1936. She studied art at the National College of Art in Dublin, Ireland, Le Centre d’Art Sacre, Paris, L’Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Montreal and The Art Students League of New York.
In 1966 she went to Vienna to study with Professor Ernst Fuchs to learn the ‘mische’ technique – the painting secrets of the Masters of the Italian Renaissance, which Fuchs had researched and rediscovered.
At Professor Ernst Fuchs’ invitation, Marlin went to Austria to teach the mische technique at his Summer Seminar near Vienna for seven years, Marlin now lectures on the technique all over the world.
In 1998 she founded the Society for Art of Imagination to promote Visionary and Fantastic art worldwide, Marlin is Director of all USA and UK branches.
