Fabric Bag Workshop This Afternoon
Friday, 22nd May, 2009 at 2:22 pm, Isle of Wight
Community, Green Issues, Ventnor
Don’t forget that a new bag workshop starts this afternoon in Ventnor.
The Fabric and Paper Bag Making Workshop aims to encourage us all to get our hands busy making Morsbags so we can rid Ventnor and the Island of plastic carrier bags.
As we’ve said before, you don’t need to be a whizz on the sewing machine, just simply be able to machine in a straight line.
As Angie (another Morsbag heroine) points out on her blog, “Morsbags fold up really small and easily fit into a pocket or a handbag, pick a fabric to suit your personality, plain, stripes or floral etc. These bags are quick to make and they make ideal gifts. Morsbags are always given away for free and are never sold.”
There’ll also be a chance to learn how to make carrier bags from old newspaper.
There’ll be tea and coffee available so why not pop along or call Sheila on 856268 to express your interest.
The workshops will take place every Friday between 2pm – 4pm at the Ventnor Community Cafe, 3 Albert St, Ventnor.
