Mimi’s Cupcakery Expands in Ventnor

Some of you may have noticed that suzes room (lovely vintage things) has been closed for a while, Suze has been really busy with her fabulous cake making, which some of you may have tried in Goodman’s Deli under her trading name of Mimi’s Cupcakery.
As well as out of this world cupcakes, Suze spends many hours a week creating amazing Celebration cakes and huge cupcake towers for events across the Island and further afield.
Suze has decided to focus on her two great passions (besides her husband!) cakes and vintage home wares, including one off vintage cake stands, tea sets and linens.
Having consulted with the councils planning department, things are underway and over the summer the shop will be slowly transforming.
You will be able to pop in and order anything from a simple tray of brownies to a cupcake extravaganza or a wonderful themed cake.
Suze likes a challenge and recent commissions have included a 1950’s style poodle, a celebration cake covered in handmade sugar daisies and a 40th Birthday cupcake tower made in white and dark chocolate with a hint of pink glitter.
All cakes are made using local ingredients where possible, these include Brownrigg free range eggs, Stoneground flour company flour and locally made unsalted butter.
Suze bakes in small batches and is happy to fulfil any special requests, she says that cupcake towers are very popular with all ages at the moment and everyone loves having their own individual cake!

Suze made an awesome cake for my sons birthday! A Nasa space rocket no less! He was thrilled with the cake and was certainly the envy of all his friends when they saw it! It was absolutely delicious too! Thanks Suze!

I am not surprised that suzes talents have been appreciated by others. Suze’s cakes have quickly become a favourite in our house with all the family and friends alike. The cupcakes are like little works of art, I have stopped giving flowers in favour of a box of colouful treats they never fail to thrill! Good Luck with such a great idea you are such a talent and all of us in Ventnor are lucky to have you!

Our daughter was given a fantasy cake for her birthday, with floating butterflies and colours so verdant that we gawped at this object for several days, unwilling to destroy what we saw as a beautiful sculpture.
I believe it did its rounds in her high school, with my daughter fiercely protective of this cake for several days.
And eating this piece of art was an experience that was quite unlike eating an ordinary cake!! It was divine.

Good luck Suze – although you hardly need it considering how incredibly hard you work! But you certainly deserve to be very successful and Ventnor should be proud to have your new venture here especially at a time when you could reasonably expect businesses to be scaling down. It’s a great idea and really fits in well with Ventnor’s cosmopolitan and interesting curious image. You’re a credit to us. Thank you!

Suze’s cupcakes are wonderful – Suze created 6 tiers of 80 beautiful individual cakes recently for a family 40th birthday party – they even had pink glitter on them!! they were delicious & enjoyed by all!
Your passion & dedication is why you are so successful & well known – you have also kept your celebrity customers secret Suze – very discreet!
