Simply Red And Anastacia Headline Osborne House

Wednesday, 29th April, 2009 at 4:11 pm, Isle of Wight

East Cowes, Events, Music

1, August 2009to2, August 2009

Following the success of last years Osborne House concerts organised by Solo Promotions, they’re back again this year.

Anastacia and Simply Red Headline Osborne House At the beginning of August, Queen Victoria’s holiday residence will play host to a two night concert that sees female powerhouse Anastacia and British soul band legend, Simply Red, headline this special event in East Cowes.

Yes, we did say Simply Red! It certainly seems to be the year on the Island for ‘blasts from the past’ but when Mick Hucknall takes to the stage at Osborne House later in the year, you’ll be guaranteed of a great performance – all his band members have superb musical pedigree.

Solo tell us that the Anastacia on show will be radically different from the one who last toured in 2005, with tracks from the softer, gentler, more feminine album – Heavy Rotation.

Included in the lineup over the weekend are electric string quartet Escala, who’ll be supporting Anastacia on the Saturday night. They’ll be joined by Leon Jackson, the Scottish swooner who won the hearts of the nation with his stunning voice on X-Factor, as he performs an acoustic set.

Providing support for Simply Red on the Sunday night will be Dutch soul sensation Alain Clark. who will be complementing the soul band evening with his Motown feel.

John Giddings, organiser of Osborne House and the Isle Of Wight Festival, is thrilled to have teamed up with Green Eye Events, Riverside Productions and The English Heritage again to put on this unique weekend. “It’s wonderful to be able to continue playing a part in developing the music and cultural scene on the island and by once again attracting world class acts to this wonderful location I’m looking forward to a cracking weekend.”

Don’t miss out on this unique event. Tickets go on sale on Friday 1st May and are available online from Ticketzone or through the ticket hotline 08705 321 321.

Now wouldn’t Simply Red have made a better headliner than Neil Young at the Festival?

Don’t think either night was sold out, so if you fancy a bit of Simply Red tonight there’s a box office in the car park on the way in. Got tickets to Anastacia last night at the last minute and loved it – she and her band and dancers put on a great show. I wasn’t expecting so much warmth and charisma and humour from her, in addition to that HUGE voice. (Heard a rumour she may stick around to duet with Mick Hucknall.)
