Continuing the season of weekend workshops at Quay Arts, anyone interested in making jewellery should read on.

This workshop at Jubilee Stores with Kelly Yates will introduce you to a variety of different types of art clay, including syringe clay, slow-dry clay and normal silver clay.

You will learn how to handle the clay, size the ring shank and join the ring, as well as shaping, forming and texturing techniques.

You will also learn how to set a stone into a ring and how to give your rings a professional finish, completing the weekend with two totally different rings.

    I spent a brilliant weekend learning to make jewellery with Kelly – she is an excellant teacher.
    She has given me the inspiration to venture into jewellery making and silver smithing.
