Thanks to Lauren for sending through this request. Were sure there’ll be plenty of our creative or artistic readers interested in her appeal. Ed

Call For Island ArtistsChallenging the face of art on the Island
Ryde Arts Festival is only a few months away and its about time the art scene is shaken up a little.

An exhibition is to be held in the basement of an empty chapel in Ryde, it’s mission: to challenge the Islands perception of what ‘art’ is, so step aside basket weaving, quilt making and old school seascapes and make way for the likes of graf, VJing, sound art and digital photography.

Anyone on the Island who produces something to appeal to human senses or emotions and is interested in exhibiting please get in touch with Lauren Fry @ learnfury@hotmail.co.uk or find me on Facebook for a chat

Wonderful appeal! But when the basket weavers step aside, can they step my way please, because I am actually looking for basket weaving instruction. If anyone knows of basket weaving types, could they please direct me to them? Any information appreciated, belindalison@yahoo.com
