Once I’d got any notion that it was going to be like watching a reincarnation of Ian Curtis out of the way, I enjoyed it. No attempt to mimic the visuals or lead vocals of the original band, but Transmission got the general full, bassy, sound right.
Recommend the film Control, starring Sam Riley as Ian Curtis, to anyone who appreciates Joy Division. Very evocative biopic of his life.
