Nodehill Pupils Get Connected
Friday, 3rd October, 2008 at 9:40 am, Isle of Wight
It’s great to see in the County Press this morning that Nodehill Head Teacher, David Morris, has achieved his goal of every Year 7 pupil having their own laptop.
It was something he enthused about when we met up with him back in March, at the school’s centenary celebrations.
The school has an excellent track record in staying on top of technological issues, ensuring that it’s pupils are given every opportunity to embrace the changing world of technology.
We say, “Well done David Morris, it’s a great achievement and your plan to repeat it next year deserves all the support it can get”.

Nodehill achieved its best ever KS2 results this year, which doesn’t tally with the August news items based on incomplete provisional results which suggested a dip.
As formal league tables won’t be published till next March (two months later than usual), maybe middle schools should publicise their results here?
Bearing in mind the deadline for responding to the formal consultation on schools reorganisation is just days away (October 10?) it would be good to have a more complete picture available as to how middle schools are doing.

Quite agree with Wendy. Nodehill had great KS3 results too – ALL the pupils that it put in for them (a year early) passed. I realise that it had some choice in the matter, but it’s hard not to be impressed, especially when the council is so busy trying to convince us that Middle schools are rubbish!
We met a parent of two children who have just started there, one of whom had spent his first year at Trinity (as was) but whose sibling was refused entry, so they both ended up at NH (and are very happy).
