Unidentifiable Paw Prints on Ventnor Downs

Friday, 18th July, 2008 at 8:00 am, Isle of Wight

Ventnor

Friend of VB and one of our Flickr Group and forum members, Good Fairy was out walking on the Ventnor downs a few months ago with her dogs.

Being a photographer and having a keen eye, she spotted something quite unusual in the ground.

It’s quite difficult to identify from the picture, but here is her description:

Hi everyone, have taken some photos of a big print up on the downs, have posted one one the vb photo pool … I have 2 BIG dogs, and it seemed much bigger than there paw prints.

The time was about 6pm in the evening, about 3 1/2 months ago. I remember being freezing and wanting to get off home, and it seems remarkable that I was able to spot it.

Have you seen something similar? Any clues as to what it might be?

I’ve seen these in Africa. Almost certainly a leopard print. Apparently they are living indigenously in Wales. Or it could be a Yetty. Or David Icke who has been living in Ryde, but could be roaming the moors.
