Gum Fu: Enter The Clinic: Interview with Andy Jones (podcast)Way back in April (boy, how time flies) we went along to the Island Premiere of Gum Fu: Enter The Clinic, a youth led project commissioned for the IOW Chlamydia Screening Programme.

Andy, well known across the Island as a music technology teacher and for being involved in various youth projects, joined the Streets Ahead film project four years ago, but when another member left the team in September 2007, Andy was left to manage the Gum Fu project on his own without any previous filming experience. Despite this, he managed, with the help of the young people from the Streets Ahead Team, to pull together this fantastic Chlamydia awareness film.

It’s hoped that the film will go on tour around the Island to the High Schools to help raise awareness of this

Apparently, one in ten people screened test positive and the infection is easily spread, so it’s really important to get the message out to young adults who might be considering sexual relations without the use of condoms.

Simon caught up with Andy after the premiere …
