Bestival: Band and DJ Winners Picked

Thursday, 19th June, 2008 at 9:51 am, Isle of Wight

Bestival, Island-wide, Ryde

Bestival: Band and DJ Winners PickedAmidst a really good turnout last night at The Venue in Ryde, the winning band and DJ were picked by Mr Da Bank and his jury.

All involved put on a good show as Bands and DJ alternated, but there can only be one winner in each category.

We’ll cut to the chase …

Band: The Shanklin Freakshow

DJ: Mistubishop and Duvstar

See them at Bestival.

Every band played well last night, but I’d agree with Da Bank, the Freakshow are a great act for the Bestival and will go down very well. The real surprise came from Mistubishop and Duvstar – these two really lit the place up and the crowd were pleased when they won. Nice one lads!

Shanklin Freak Show are absolutely perfect for Bestival and for once I’ll be making sure I’m in, with tent set up early, so I can be down there at the front of the stage to catch their performance at the beginning of the weekend.

Mistubishop and Duvstar certainly had tons of energy and although I’m not a fan of the kind of music they played, their enthusiasm was infectious. I would’ve voted for Jordan Peak myself though – hugely talented.
