Yes folks, the votes are in and tonight sees the next round of the Platform One/County Press Live Wired competition take place at The Studio in Newport.

UberlaserAs you might remember, the first heat of the competition for Island bands to win a spot on the bandstand at the Isle of Wight Festival in June took place in January, with Goodbye Stereo and Shanklin Freak Show making the grade as heat winners.

Tere are five bands playing tonight and the two who wow the judges the most will go on to battle it out with the winners of round one later in the month. The prize is not just a post on the bandstand, but also a weekend recording session at Platform One.

So who’s playing tonight you ask? Well, once again it’s a mixed bag, but all quality musicians.

“Tonight’s live heat will feature metal-act Kids Will Be Skeletons, electro-artist Uberlaser (pictured), sibling duo Me and My Sister, former festival openers Siniez and rockers Magic Octagon.”

It’ll only cost you £3 to get in and the action kicks off at 8pm
