Bestival 2008: My Bloody Valentine – Friday Headliner

Friday, 22nd February, 2008 at 12:01 am, Isle of Wight

Bestival, Central Wight, Festivals, Music

My Bloody ValentineOh my bloody god, they’ve only gone and got My Bloody Valentine to play Bestival on Friday night – how about that for a Friday headliner? Time to buy some new shoes me thinks.

Yes folks, that’s right, My Bloody Valentine, one of my all time favs as an old indie girl, shame they weren’t able to announce it last Thursday, but there you go.

If you weren’t one of the lucky ones who managed to get a ticket for their UK tour – which sold out within the first hour – imagine that -the whole tour selling out within an hour – then now is your chance.

And

If you live on the Wight then you can buy your ticket without
paying a booking fee
or their pesky commission – for one day only – all Islanders can buy their tix without paying the above. That’s a saving of £17.50. But back to the bands ……..

If you’re not familiar with MBV, you might recognise this track without even realising who they are.

It was used in the rather excellent film, Lost in Translation, which only last week was voted Most Boring Film ever – don’t listen to a word of it – it’s one of our favourites.

True to form, on the case. Ah, mbv -taken back to my heady days as an indie gurl. Can’t wait – thank you Rob da Bank – who have impeccable taste.
