The Kurves Play Camp Hill
Wednesday, 23rd January, 2008 at 4:08 pm, Isle of Wight
Charity, Law & Order, Music, Newport
Yes, that’s right, Island Band, The Kurves will be doing a gig to inmates at Camp Hill Prison next month as part of a fund raising event for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
The County Press will be sponsoring the event where The Kurves will be playing a one hour gig on the 12th February.
The band have not been going long, but recently made it through to the first round of the Live Wired/Platform One competition.
Lead singer, Jamie Fineran got inspiration for many of his songs when he served in Belfast in the army. When he returned to the Island, he joined up with Chris, who he knew from his days as a nipper.
Other mates from school, Wez, Robert and Richard got involved and The Kurves were formed.
Check out their website for details of future gigs.

We’ll be going to Camp Hill to watch this one tomorrow night. Hopefully they won’t be keeping us in overnight!

Its a prison, for people that have done horrible things to others, its not a ruddy holiday camp. Why should they get treats like this?

Totally valid point.
We wanted to cover as it was, as far as we know, a unique event.
