Ducklings At New Year In Newport

Ducklings At New Year In NewportIf you hadn’t thought that floods and other weird weather conditions weren’t a big enough indicator that things are changing on the planet, The Daily Mail has some news for you.

It’s reporting that a duck has recently given birth to 14 ducklings on the Island – four months early.

Beryl Read, 67, near Newport, was rather shocked, to say the least, to see them waddling around her nearby pond on New Years Eve.

“I don’t usually see ducklings at our pond until April,” she’s quested as saying, “The ducks usually breed and hatch their young around that time because that’s when the insects and bugs are around for them to feed on. To see them at this time of year is unbelievable. ”

Sounds like she’s looking after them well, on a diet of mashed boiled chicken’s eggs and chick crumb.
