Boxing Day Swim Versus The Polar Bear Plunge
Wednesday, 19th December, 2007 at 7:36 pm, Isle of Wight
With less than a week to go until the Annual Charity Boxing Day Swim, we thought that you might like to take a look at what our friends over in Ventnor, USA get up to on New Years Day.
Yes, you’ve guessed it, they have their own group of brave (crazy?) souls who decide to run like the wind into what looks like very cold, icy waters in Ventnor, New Jersey.
We’ve got to say that the huge grey waves of the Atlantic, make our little bay look rather inviting, even on a cold winter’s day.
The Annual Boxing Day Swim takes place, not surprisingly, on Boxing Day and normally kicks off at around midday. Make sure you bring some cash with you, because as always, there’ll be plenty of collection buckets rattling up and down the esplanade.
