Pick Of The VB Week

The Ventnor Winter Gardens played host to two fantastic gigs over the weekend.

Pick Of The VB Week Chas N DaveSeeing a sellout on Friday night for The Animals and Spencer Davis and although a smaller turnout for Chas ‘n’ Dave on Saturday night, a brilliant gig with great atmosphere.

We caught up with Chas before the show and will be putting out a review and podcast later in the week.

Last week saw the first in a series of podcasts with small independent shopkeepers and businesses in Ventnor as part of our ‘Shop Local’ campaign. We popped in to see Wim from the Country Kitchen and you can listen to the podcast to find out what he has on offer. There’ll be more podcasts coming your way this week on VB, so keep your eyes and ears peeled.

The other big news last week was that our friends over at Bestival HQ were popped the champagne corks and giving themselves a huge pat on the backs for picking up the Best Medium Sized Festival Award for the third year running.

With their sister festival, Camp Bestival making its debut performance in July 2008, we’re reckon that they might just be picking up some extra awards this time next year.
