Bestival: Bestival Radio 87.7fm

Thursday, 30th August, 2007 at 3:11 pm, Isle of Wight

Central Wight, Competitions, Music

If you’ve been to Bestival before, you’ll no doubt have heard of Bestival Radio, probably whilst chilling around the campsite catching up with your mates.

Bestival: Bestival Radio 87.7fmThis year, the Bestival’s own radio station promises to be bigger, bolder and better than ever before – and judging by what they’ve got lined up, you really want to make sure you don’t forget to take your trannie with you.

They’ve teamed up with new sponsors, Jokers’ Masquerade, to make sure that you get the chance to win some tip-top prizes.

If you think that disc jockeys are going to be someone you’ve never heard of before, think again my friend.

Bestival always make sure, that if they do something, they do it properly and this year, already confirmed to grace the Bestival airwaves with their own radio ’slots’, will be none other than DJ Yoda, Jack Penate, Ali Love, Queens of the Noize, Candie Payne, The Rumble Strips and Bonde De Role.

But it doesn’t stop there, because Bestival radio want YOU, the festival goer to get involved too.

Here’s what they have to say …

The idea behind Bestival FM is to enhance and expand the madness of Bestival, transmitting the chaotic perfection and the musical passion, drawing everyone on the site closer together, and at the same time allowing the awesome power of what is being created in that small valley to reach out and touch many more people on the island, the Solent and the world! For the whole weekend we’ll be there to swim the sonic ocean, dive into the silliness and squirt the Bestival message as far as possible.

Come and find Bestival FM onsite – it is the giant Portakabin come submersible in-between the Club Da Da and the Fast Can Bar. You don’t have to be a manatee to sea horse about in your turtle-neck – just slip on your flippers and drop in for impromptu acoustic sets from Bestival headliners, tell us how your weekend is unfolding and bask in the audio bliss of sub aquatic radio pandemonium.

If you can’t make it along to Bestival because you missed out on the tickets, have a go at our competition or failing that, tune in to 87.7fm to hear the action from the comfort of your sofa.

Of course, VentnorBlog will be there, sending in live reports of the action and encouraging all the lovely Bestival goers to send in their experiences and adventures to share.
