Portsmouth FC To Invest In IW Radio
Tuesday, 24th July, 2007 at 5:31 pm, Isle of Wight
I see on the Guardian website today, that Portsmouth Football Club are planning to buy a 50% stake in three local radio stations, including Isle of Wight Radio.
I wonder if that is why Alex Dyke seemed to be attending matches at Newport FC earlier in the year, when he has previously expressed his disinterest for the sport.
The deal comes about as Portsmouth FC invest in The Local Radio Company and form a joint venture to run The Quay in Portsmouth, Spirit FM in Chichester and our very own, Isle of Wight Radio.

I was running Newport FC a couple of seasons ago and Alex Dyke took every opportunity to knock us down. This revelation combined with IOW Radio’s renewed sudden interest all of a sudden makes a lot more sense!!
