Lost And Found On VentnorBlog Forum: Seeking Andy Berry

Tuesday, 19th June, 2007 at 12:52 pm, Isle of Wight

Community, Ventnor

UPDATE: Within an hour of this posting, Simon has been put in touch with his relatives and will hopefully get to meet them in person this weekend.

It’s not the first time that people have used the forum to find an old friend or relative, but once again, today we’ve had someone register to join and post a message looking for a relative.

Ventnor Comic Jazz BandThis time it’s new member, Simon Berry who is in search of Andy Berry, a man known to many in Ventnor (and member of the Ventnor Comic Jazz Band), so hopefully someone will come forward and pass on contact details. Here’s what he had to say ….

Anyone know the whereabouts of Andy Berry? I am trying to track him down as my family has lost contact details for him.

My Dad (Tony) is his half brother (they have the same mother). I have never met Andy or any of his family but will be in IOW this weekend for the Round Island Race with my wife and daughter and would love to meet/catch up with him.

I know he has lived on IOW all his life and plays in a band and has/does work in the building trade.

Many Thanks, Simon

If you want to pass on contact details you can either do it through the forum or email us at ventnorblog(at)gmail(dot)com.

As I said, we’ve had quite a few people join the forum in search of old friends or relatives.

Another success story was a son who had been separated from his father for many years. He took his search online and found his father’s name mentioned on the VentnorBlog forum. After registering to join, he was able to private message (PM) the person he thought might be his father and was relieved to find that it was.

They have since met up again and are now in regular contact. The father was overjoyed and convinced that his son would never have found him again, had it not been for VentnorBlog.

It’s not something we thought the forum would be used for, but really pleased that there have been several ‘lost’ people found again through it.
