World Class Climate Change Boffins Coming To Ventnor
Thursday, 17th May, 2007 at 12:28 pm, Isle of Wight
| 21, May 2007 | to | 24, May 2007 |
Next week, those in the know about climate change and landslides from around the globe, will be converging upon Ventnor for the Landslides and Climate Change International Conference.
The purpose of this Conference is to examine the evidence of historical and potential climate change causing an increase in natural hazards and risk both at the coast and inland, to exchange ideas, solutions and good practice for proactive planning, management and risk mitigation.
Joining our very own Robin McInnes OBE on the organising committee is none other than Dr Alan Clark from High-Point Rendel who will also be leading the all field visits.
It’s fantastic that Ventnor has been chosen for the location of the conference, and should boost the economy of the local shops, cafes, pubs and hotels etc over the four days.
Anyone interested in learning more about the conference, should check the website

“those in the know”??????
How do you know they know? Because they tell you? There are no experts in this field. The human race has not been here for long enough. A couple of thousand years is a mere millisecond in the history of the world.
“our very own Robin McInnes”???
Hang on,was he not the end client in the building of the “Haven” that most of your bloggers are always slagging off?
The inclusion of someone from HPR, given the ongoing Wragge enquiry is a tad insensitive.
