More news hits us of extra bands playing at Bestival this year. Not only have you got the amazing Beastie Boys, Chemical Brothers, etc … but added to that is …
Gossip, who will be playing on Friday night, just before The Chemical Brothers.
The seminal funk-package that is Soul II Soul, who changed the end of the ’80′s with their Club Classics Vol I album, will be delighting all with their sound system, powered by Jazzi B and the Funki Dreds.
Bestival Curator Rob da Bank gave forth, “The Gossip have made quite a few of my favourite records of the last year and their leader Beth Ditto is gonna whip our crowd into shape big time! Soul II Soul on the other hand have made quite a few of my favourite records ever and im well pleased to have tempted them to do a rare full live show on the Saturday night.”
Carl Craig, the Detroit-based super-DJ will be bring his techno-powerhouse, spinning himself senseless.
For all of the old school geezers and geezettes out there, the legendary electronic pioneer John Foxx, the founding member/vocalist of Ultravox, will be performing two spellbinding audio-visual sets, one being ‘Cathedral Oceans’ which he has only ever played in European churches and cathedrals previously. He’s also planning to play his seminal 1980 ‘Metamatic’ album live in full at Bestival for the first time.
More details of the other to follow shortly.

[...] Soul II Soul were massive in the late 1980s and are still going strong, last on the Wight playing at Bestival 2007. [...]
