Giant Stamp Comes To Ventnor

If you’re out walking on the downs this afternoon and happen to see a giant stamp, don’t worry, that mushroom quiche you had for lunch isn’t the cause of this unusual sight … it’s to mark the launch of a new set of stamps from the Post Office.

The ten new stamps celebrate this wonderful land we live on, one of which features St Boniface Down … always a beautiful sight, especially when the mist is rolling down the hills.

The photos were taken over a two year period and according to Royal Mail “capture the essence of each part of the UK by exploring the landscape”.

    we managed to get up there in time for pics, will post them later … what spectacular views you get from there … really should explore it more

    What a shame I missed that, looking forward to seeing your photos Sal. Just got to grips with my DSLR what a limited addition that would have been for my Portfolio :o)

    What a stunning place the Downs are. Ashamed that we haven’t been there before – plan to correct this by Downs-overindulgence in the coming weeks.

    I’ve put a couple of shots up on the VentnorBlog Group, that Sal may use of the story.
