Shopping Trolley: Was It A Dream?

I had to pinch myself this morning when I woke from a contented slumber … was it a dream or did it really happen?

I know that I DID dream about it, but as my sleepy mind finally came back into consciousness I was sure … yes, it was real, and about as real as you’re ever going to get.

What I, along with 250 other people encountered last night at the Quay Arts was an amazing feast of creativity. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such a diverse collection of talent (all of whom would insist that they’re not), all in the same room at the same time.

OK, you have places like Tate Modern with its diverse and extensive collections, but to have art, music, fashion, dance and film all come together at a live event knocks the socks of the likes of the Tate. And it’s all happening here, on this beautiful Isle.

Of course, it wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of Stephen Munn, director of Quay Arts and artists, Raff, Hannah Ray and Lucy Wells pulling it all together. They’re humble and modest about what they’ve achieved, but in my eyes deserve the greatest admiration.

Shopping Trolley was truly the best arts event I’ve ever experienced and I can’t wait for the next one.

We’ll be bringing you more reviews, interviews and vox pops from last nights event over the coming week.
